When the Wirral GP Federation was first formed, one of their first actions was to request that the patients should form a Patient Group. This has developed into a relationship of mutual respect, in which we feel that not only our opinions sought, but that they are respected.
The Group meets bi-monthly at either St Hilary Group Practice, in Wallasey, or King’s Lane Medical Practice in Bebington. All Practices are invited to send two representatives to the meetings.

In addition to representation at Members’ meetings, two patient representatives are non-executive members of the Board. At each meeting we are asked for our opinion. This means that we are able to keep members fully up to date with current events.
So far, we have pursued several matters with the CCG. These include the proposals for Tele-ECG and Tele-Derm service, changes to the Direct Access Diagnostic Services, and the problems with the Phlebotomy Service. We are currently monitoring suggestions for some changes in medical services at Nursing/Residential homes.
We are really looking forward to more patient representatives to come and join us. For more details on how to join group or future meetings contact norbet1951@googlemail.com
